Panasonic DMP-BDT100 Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Player Reviews
The DMP-BDT100 joins Panasonic's DMP-BDT300 and DMP-BDT350 Blu-Ray players in providing superior 2D and 3D picture quality, as well as VIERA CAST internet functionality, support for a wide variety of standards, video upconverting, re-sampling and remastering of audio at 96 kHz, and other great features. Step right into the 3D world with the DMP-BDT100.
The BDT100 outputs stunning and immersive Full HD 3D imagery to compatible HD displays. Panasonic's GT25 series 3D HDTVs, for example, allow images for each eye to be alternately reproduced at the rate of 60 frames per second (fps), making a total fps for both eyes. Viewers watch the images through high-precision 3D Eyewear (not included), which opens and closes the left and right shutters in synchronization with the alternating images. As a result, a separate 1920 x 1080 full-HD image is sent to each eye. This addresses the image quality problems and blurring that were common to earlier 3D systems, and creates sharp, crisp 3D images.
The BDT100 player outputs full 3D HD, handles a wide variety of audio standards, and upconverts all standard definition video formats to 1080p, the highest-possible video resolution.
Users can also watch 2D images (JPEG) and movies (AVCHD*2/MPEG2*2) from digital cameras and camcorders via the integrated SD card and USB slot, as well as 3D Content shot by a Panasonic HDC-SDT750 Camcorder.
The BDT100 will decode Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby TrueHD and DTS/DTS-HD high-resolution audio, with much higher fidelity than CDs and support for up to eight full-range audio channels. Lower quality audio is up-sampled and re-mastered at 96kHz, for rich audio presentation no matter the media format.
Perfect your sound with tools like the Dialogue Enhancer, which increases the center channel volume to make dialogue easier to hear, or Night Surround Mode, which compensates for hard-to-hear surround effects when listening at low volume; or dynamic compression, which evens out soft and loud sounds.
Enjoy online content on the big screen with a wired or wireless (with purchase of wireless LAN adaptor) broadband connection. Panasonic's VIERA Cast service brings a variety of streaming services including Netflix, Amazon VOD, Pandora, Twitter, and YouTube Videos into the living room.
Even with large capacity Blu-ray media, the great volume of master movie data cannot fully be saved onto a single disc. Master data must first be compressed to fit to the capacity of a disc, and the key to decode this compressed data faithfully is to know the master data. Panasonic has a long history of research in image compression technologies, and has authored plenty of Blu-ray Disc movies at Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, working directly with Hollywood filmmakers. By incorporating this accumulated knowledge, Panasonic can provide true-to-cinema picture quality, enabling faithful reproduction of the nuances, touch, and atmosphere the filmmakers intended.
PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus is a high quality image-processing technology developed to precisely process each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the vertical direction. It reproduces color data with twice the accuracy of conventional systems to keep colors faithful and sharp.
With the new P4HD Enhanced full HD upsampling, standard definition movies on DVD approach full HD quality. The picture is intelligently analyzed to have the best matching process done on each pixel, resulting in a sharper image with no false outlines, higher resolution for details, and less noise in unchanged parts.
The DMP-BDT100 reproduces the color signals in horizontal directions with higher resolution. This means not only full-HD movies in 1080p, but concert and documentary films delivered in 1080i resolution are now reproduced with greater details than ever before.
The boot time from standby to power-on has been greatly reduced from prior models, allowing ultra-fast, half-second booting. Stop waiting and start watching.
The DMP-BDT100 automatically turns on/off depending on the TV status, for energy saving and longer product life.
x.v.Color is the new standard in high-definition color, which delivers up to 80 percent more color than standard HDTV for breathtaking realism and vivid, natural colors.
